Waist-to-height planning
Army body-composition boundary.
Use height × 0.55 to estimate the waist measurement boundary, then confirm the current measurement method and official result through Army personnel.
Calculation
Height in inches × 0.55
Example: a height of 70 inches multiplied by 0.55 produces a boundary of 38.5 inches. A current waist measurement should be below that boundary under the described standard.
- Measure height in inches.
- Multiply height by 0.55.
- Compare the official waist measurement with the calculated boundary.
- Confirm measurement placement, rounding, exemptions, and current policy through official guidance.
Choose a preparation timeline.
More time generally allows smaller, more gradual changes. Select the plan that fits your current activity level, recovery, and available preparation window.
